12/29 Bariloche

We leave Villa Langostura for Bariloche today. I had been there in 2005 with my parents and grandparents and was excited to go again. When we arrived we got maps from the info center, cuddled a Saint Bernard puppy on the main plaza, and took off to do the circuito chico in our rental car. We saw the Llao Llao hotel, stopped for photos at the vista panoramica, visited the Colonia Suiza where we got a piece of chocolate at a store that looked like a fairyland, and then went to Playa Bonita for lunch with an amazing view of the Nahuel Huapi lake on the patio of La Playa restaurant (great salads). After we took the lift up the Cerro Campanario which I took with Dad in 2005 (still have the picture of us getting off of the lift at the top of the mountain). The view from the top is truly amazing. We got a birds-eye-view of all the lakes and mountains around Bariloche. We all got a laugh when a girl asked Hugh to take a picture of her with the mountains in the background, and then proceeded to involve him in a 10 minute photo shoot while she rearranged her hair and fixed her pose until she was satisfied with her glamour shot. We had a coffee at the top and then headed back down where we checked Josh and Amy into their hotel and then headed to the Selva Negra campsite. We set up our tent in lot 22 and fell in love with the campground, it was so beautiful set up in the woods over the lake with flowers and trees and nice lots set up in the shade. It was Amy´s birthday that day so we changed and met them at the hotel, then went to El Mundo for Pizza. Loved the restaurant, great service and delicious salads and thin crust pizza, and you can even choose your own toppings which is unheard of in Argentina. After dinner we celebrated Amy´s birthday with an ice cream at Baccio on España off the main plaza (coffee baccio and mora flavors were a hit), then went to South Bar for a drink. Lots of laughs and fun times at South Bar.
